This house in east San Jose bears a sign of the times June 18, 2008. The monthly home sales numbers are out for Santa Clara County and the news is that after a strong burst of sales activity between March and April, the numbers have dropped to the slowest May sales in 20 years. April sales had broken a seven month string of low sales. Right now, most of the sales are being driven by buyers taking advantage of all the foreclosures and auctions. (Pauline Lubens/Mercury News)
